Story in Pictures: The Hoover Dam Bridge

The Hoover Dam is a top historical landmark and tourist destination in the United States, thanks to its beautiful sights and its feat of engineering.
In November of 2010, a new bypass bridge will reach its expected complete construction. This bridge in and of itself is also a marvel to behold: over 1,900 feet long, rising almost 900 feet above the Colorado River, with its longest support span at over 1,000 feet.
Kind of makes us feel pretty small.  Lucky for us, plenty of Shutterstock contributors have visited the Hoover Dam over the last few years, and snapped some breathtaking photos throughout the bridge’s construction.
Below, we thought it would be neat to assemble a collection of Shutterstock photos depicting the bridge’s construction in chronological order. Enjoy!
